JamieK 1 Posted December 16, 2012 i'm told there is no point in stopping it down. at f/2 you're far better off with the f/2 lens. have you taken any with it yet? like the picture as well. best, jamie Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted December 16, 2012 I agree very pretty, it might just be the photographer in me, but some of these lenses appear to me as a work of art in thier own right.Great clarity too! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
mike_palermiti 0 Posted December 17, 2012 Hi Lannie,A "7" all the way my friend.I own ALL the Nikkor 50mm ever produced and I never tire of seeing an image of one. While they are all nice to look at but I prefer using them. This lens is better used from F/2 to F/4.Manual focus is the only way I go, even when the lens is has an auto-focus capability.Along with manual focus is the manual f-stop and manual choices made in the camera.Back to the basics of photography.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted December 17, 2012 Jamie, Alf, Mike: No, I have never used this lens. I imagine that it is pretty soft at f/1.2, but I cannot say that from experience. I love the feel, the heft, of these older designs. --Lannie Link to comment
