Jon, Laurent and Pierre, thanks for your time and encouraging comments on this photo. I shot it last month in a village market in Voinjama in northern Liberia. I must say I am very satisfied with what I could get from this verry narrow place with difficult light conditions. I was lucky that they accepted being photographed and that they continued doing their work without posing for the camera.

Out of some scrap iron the smith forges the red-hot metal to make a traditional small hoe which is fixed on a short wooden handle to be used by the farmers as their main agricultural tool. The helper operates a mechanical bellows to keep the necessary heat of the charcoal fire.
