hamidfarzandian 0 Posted December 5, 2012 Badab sort is a natural site in Mazandaran Province in northern Iran, 95 kilometers South of city of Sari, and 7 kilometers west of Orost village. It comprises a range of stepped travertine terrace formations that has been created over thousands of years as flowing water from two mineral hot springs cooled and deposited carbonate minerals on the mountain side. This is an very early morning shot with the last episode of moon show! Thanks in advance for your visit Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted December 6, 2012 Impressive scene and yes,has to be viewed large to appreciate the details of this most exceptional landscape.I like how you have skillfully positioned yourself to set the moon at centerstage and have it reflected in one of the mirror surfaces of the flooded terraces.Bravo for an excellent image!Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment

llgarcia 1 Posted December 7, 2012 The terraces form lines that bring me into the image. The moon and its lighting is stunning in this well composed landscape. Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted December 26, 2012 I like the stepped terraces, the textures and contours are such that they give a surreal, almost alien aspect to the image. The presence of the moon again adds to that impression of other worldly theme. It is interesting to note the mood changes yet again if you crop the image down the middle. It eleminates most of the recognisable earthly kind of landscape aspects, and takes it a stage further into the realms of the surreal, and at the same tim eoff sets the moon position nicely. I wonder if you took a portrait orientated shot ?Excellent Work Hamid! Alf Link to comment
hamidfarzandian 0 Posted December 27, 2012 So much thanks for your nice comments and generous rates, much appreciated.Alf, May thanks for your thoughtful comment. The scene itself, and the time of the shot were totally and almost surreal. The location was near 70 km far from the access road, and i was lonely at dark in the middle of nowhere! Sky , disappearing moon, and upcoming sun were actors of that surreal scene. The terraces and fountains, as well as colors of the rocks were actually strange, amazing and bizzare...I completely agree about suggested crop, which infuse an abstract atmosphere to a surreal scene. I shot near 30 vertical and horizontal shots from this scene, i worked on in the near future. Thanks again for your constructive comments. My best regards,Hamid. Link to comment
