frigo 4,155 Posted December 6, 2012 The shrimp trawlers are in for the winter and ice is starting to gel at the wharf. The setting sun was shedding the last light on the scene.Thank you for your comments-Laurent Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted December 6, 2012 Thank you kindly. It was cold but not that much, less than -10C but the wind coming off the harbour was chilling.I had to hide behind the near boat to avoid the direct sun which was peeking between the cloudy sky and the horizon.Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted December 6, 2012 -10C for me is too much cold Laurent! Now in Portugal is 10 pm, it's raining and the temperature is about +10C. That's our winter time... In which parallel (or harbour) was this shot? Best regards. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted December 7, 2012 Thank you for your interest.I envy your mild climate. It will get a lot colder here in January and February,to -30C (camera freeze) and less sometimes before it starts to warm up in March to reach +30C very briefly at the end of July/beginning of August. This shot taken at the small wharf of Lamèque(Lat 47-45N/Long 64-38W) near my home.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted December 7, 2012 Salut, Laurent! Thanks for your explanation. I'm able to say that I know well your clima and cold temperatures: in fact, my last work as a sailor man was (28 years ago) in a trawler ship fishing codfish in Newfoundland/Canadá (from November to February). Our harbour for maintenance and refuel was St. John´s (more or less the same latitude of Lamèque): nice people and nice place but very bad sea conditions and very cold clima! Unfortunately, I have just a few photos from that time...Best regards! Link to comment
