Badwater Basin is a salt flatbed that is beneath the face of the Black

Mountains that contains the lowest elevation in North America at 86 meters

(282 ft) below sea level. Located in Death Valley, California, these

hexagonal saucers are formed after the salty pan begins to dry and the

salty crystals expand. Taken a little past five in the morning on a dry and

very windy situation that topples a tripod left alone standing. Thank you for

your visit. Please click image for larger view.

First I thought is broken ice,but after I saw the large view and your text all is clear.Nice result for this point of view, sharp and clear from foreground to bg,I like too the contrast  with sunrise colors.

Great looking image. You got some really nice color in the sky and I also like the composition you chose with the uplifted portion going through the image like a snake.

A perfect shot! Light, color and composition all are awesome. A monitor issue may be, but i feel the larger version a little over sharpened. Need to be verified by others. Congrats for this inspiring photo. Bravo.

I have been there and the walk out is enough to get your blood flowing. It's definitely a great place to photograph and your perspective is a great take on a very interesting place. Well done, Lester!
