lynnemass 10 Posted December 3, 2012 What an interesting shot. Did you do it with light painting? The color pallet is lovely. I would suggest that you burn down the blown out white area on the left (or clone it out). It pulls the viewer's eye away from the subject. I have been taught from more experienced photographers that you should always be aware of what is happening on the edges of your photo so that it doesn't detract from your intent. This was a valuable lesson for me (an "aha moment"), so I am sharing it with you.-Lynne Link to comment
kazimir 5 Posted December 3, 2012 Many thanks on your comment - I appreciate it!Well, "light painting" is my shaking hands - this picture was actually taken at midnight from the hotel window (open, in winter) of a nearby park during the storm. Altough I didn't have a tripod at a time, opportunity was challenging so I took few shots and, in reward, have dynamic and dramatic but somehow empty photos. In right corner is a black spot which calls to be filled with something appropriate, so I found a photo with this girls from some party long ago which seemed to be suitable for this occasion. As I mentioned in a comment for a photo - I didn't do the composites for a some time now and this was just a small excercise to get that feeling again.Burn out white on the left? - in the picture like this it looked to me like a contribution to an overall feeling, but now when you mentioned it - yes, it should be hidden somehow. Thanks again and all the best - love your pictures.
