One of the reasons I usually take 3 or 4 shots when photographing a group:  The more people in the group, the more likely to have one looking in a different direction than the rest or to have one with eyes closed.  This one may likely be simply be reflecting the fatherly concerns of the fellow on the right.  I'll bet he's the leader and simply looking to see if his group is ready for the shot.  I'll be kind and not mention the rather tight crop on the left. Oops! :-)  Bottom line:  Keeper!  Best, LM.

First I'm glad to see you here and read your critique , and second ,you are right about  photographing a group it is only the vocal part, as the group was 15! altogether. I took about 10- 20! photos of each one and still it is not perfect  BUT! don't bet ,you will loose...;-)) as the manager group is the seated woman on the LHS ,  Yeela Avital ,which is one of the best soprano I know....and the tight crop on the side is  beause people were all around  us and thats why..in any event you are right and I will upload another  version of that group and tell me (only if you like) which  one you prefer of the two. Thanks again Len,  and best wishes!

In this second group photo the offender is now on the (camera) left side.  :-(  However, in deciding which of the  two I like best, I feel your original does the trick. The seated women make it a much tighter composition and therefore more intimate.  And I love the great expressions you got from the women+.  Always best to go with your gut feeling I guess.  Thanks for the update.  Best, LM.
