frigo 4,155 Posted December 1, 2012 This church like the majority of rural churches in this country stands high amongst the village housing which rarely exceeds two storeys. The sun was right for this shot.Thank you for your comment-Laurent Link to comment

SteveH 0 Posted December 2, 2012 Great image with wonderful light. I like the contrast of the big church and the little house. It has a problem with the uneven polarization common to wide angle shots: the upper left is quite a bit darker. You could either lighten one corner or darken the other. Also the perspective control tools in either photoshop or lightroom might "square up" the church a bit more, if that would be more pleasing to you. I might be tempted to crop out some of the parking lot as well. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted December 2, 2012 Thank you so much for taking time on this image. You have spotted a few of the aspects inherent to the use of the ultra wide lense with polarizer.I don't mind the varying intensity in the sky produced by the polarizer and rather like the deformations introduced by the 10mm end of this lense especially when used close to elongated structures such as the steeples on this church. The closer to the edge of the frame the more the deformation is apparent and I often adopt this technique as I think a pronounced deformation is sometimes less irritant than a barely detectable one to the alert eye.On the other hand,I must confess my limited PP skills and rather old(obsolete) equipment,so my images are posted with a minimum of retouching.Re the cropping at the bottom:I had already taken some out but I guess not quite enough.Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
