plangereis 0 Posted November 19, 2012 A shot taken while visiting Yosemite. We stayed at Glacier View Point that evening and got to see some wonderful stars. A fairly large group of astronomers with large telescopes set up there as well. I would have looked through a telescope had I not been absorbed by what I was seeing happen to Half Dome as the sun went down. This is a composite of three images blended in Photoshop. DGorinstein 20 Posted November 20, 2012 A most unique and interesting rendition of this classic and wonderful natural marvel. Very original and artistic. Congratulations.DG Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted November 20, 2012 Nicely done. You did well keeping the shadows dark and not going for an HDR look. Link to comment
plangereis 0 Posted November 20, 2012 Thanks for your comments, Jim. I am trying to stay away from HDR if I can. I like the idea of using luminosity masks instead. They keep colours more natural than HDR, and things look as they should. Take care. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted November 21, 2012 Paul, this is really quite beautiful -- I like how you've handled the light. Very good processing techniques! Link to comment
plangereis 0 Posted November 21, 2012 Thanks Stephen. It has taken me a while to get comfortable with those luminosity masks, and layers in Photoshop, but I feel you have much more control of an image compared to Lightroom, especially for the subtle tweaks in light and shadows. Thanks for your comments, Stephen. You know how much I value your perspective. Take care my friend. Link to comment
