Superb photography and perfect timing.  You know, I used to crab landings in a plane but this is the first goose I've seen performing that maneuver.  Again, very well done...  Mike

Hi TmJ! Fantastic photo full of details! Sorry but I think that the bird is not braking (the foot is not in that position..., it's more like a "accident" in the landing manoeuvre...). Nevertheless, five stars photo!! Regards.

Thanks Michael! 'crab landing', that's a new word on me and I was wondering about crab land on a carrier but then I realize that will never happen because the carrier can always position itself with the wind to allow easy landing  :-)

Thanks Dom. ! I always wonder the same about the pre-historic looking Pelican too :-)

Thanks Phil! I got lucky with the 1/640 SS and got the spark going there. The light was low and I cut the SS down which helps blur the wings and water splashes. A higher SS would not be the same, I think.

Thanks Joao! Yup, it's definitely an accident with that foot dragging there but it sure feel like a disc brake sparking under some hard breaking that even a pair of Brembo would not be able to do.

Actually, the true story is that this lone illegal resident (a Canada Goose) saw the imigration official coming and try to flee ... if you can believe that. :-)
