Please view large. As Milford Sound in Fijordland National Park of New

Zealand meets the Tasman Sea, the rugged rocks exemplify the work of

the Australian tectonic plate. We were fortunate to get out there as dusk

and the sun displayed a dance of light on the expansive water. As always,

thanks for taking your time to comment. Larry

The color pallet and the slanted lines of the rock with the horizontal ones of the sea create a tension.  The little bird in the distant right middle of the image gives perspective to the size of the rocks.  Great shot.

Lynne,    Thanks for your visit.  The little bird on the top of the rock could be a tern; there were many of them in this area.  There's also a gull flying on the right.  The main thing I did with this image was to open up the shadows on the rocks.  It make s real difference to the image.  Thanks for your kind comments.  Happy Thanksgiving.  Larry

Joscelyn and Patsy,  Thanks so much for your visit and comments.  Patsy, I really enjoy your images as well; and Joscelyn, I going to your portfolio now.  Best to you both.  Larry
