Shi Shi Sunset

First evening of a three day backpacking trip to Shi Shi beach in

Olympic National Park, WA. I almost called it off because of weather,

but my wife insisted that "You never know until you go!" Of course you

need some clouds for interest and luckily we hit it just right.

You got your clouds, nice colour and brilliant silhouettes  The descending rock formations seem to follow the direction of the lone figure, and the reflections in the immediate foreground seem to balance the image nicely.  I'll bet your glad you didnt cancel the trip now!

Indeed a beautiful sight!  Years from now you will be showing this one as one of your best.  I think I would like to list it among my favorites.  When I was there we had complete cloudy overcast so I never got to see such a wonderful sunset.

One can always look at such images and ask "What if....?"  I am wondering what difference it would seem to make if the human figure were walking towards the left instead of toward the right.

Beautiful Sunset!   Normally people are not seen in a sunset like this, but here the people add scale and it really works well.
