While I was working on this image it reminded me of the simple

Kaleidoscopes I occassionally had the opportunity to enjoy as a

child. I marvelled at all the designs that could be made within

this 'cardboard tube' when you turned it and pointed it towards the

light. The designs seemed infinite. I only wish these toys lasted

longer. I think they were usually toys found in treat bags at Birthday

Parties I attended. When I searched Kaleidoscopes online, I came

across a site that actually had wooden ones that were very intricately

carved and patterned. I've never seen them before but I imagine one

would be a fine gift for even an adult. Any visits or comments are

always appreciated. Many thanks, Gail

This is the original Image I used for Inspiration. I usually play with the Transform Tool, Layers and Blending Modes to come up with these Compositions.

Wow Gail! You went a long ways from the original! I can barely even tell that you started with that. It takes a pretty special mind to create like that Gail. Superb work girl!

All the best,
Neil

Hi, Dear Wizard! Great transformation! You really know how to do it. Beautiful colour - I like this rustic look in combination with blue. Exquisit! Warm regards, Tamara

Oh my gosh!!! This totally looks like one of those kaleidoscope tubes I had as a kid.  But you've somehow also managed to make it look like the light is coming in the end of it.  It gives a jewel-like effect.  You are amazing at this stuff!

Hi Gail,

Once again, your creativity is simply awesome.

I have always been fanscinated by Kaleidoscopes.

I am pleased to see that you are using the Canon 100mm F/2.8 macro at its best settiing, F/2.8.

The sharp image at the center shows off what the lens was designed to yield.

Warmest Regards, Mike

I actually like this one very much as well, mainly because it brings to me memories from 'long ago' but no idea as to where or what. But somehow, it feels like 'part of me'. Strange to say I know, but can't help it.

Well - so far with my 100mm the f/2.8 is the fav setting that I get the best results from. The only time I have problems is when I cannot achieve optimum focus when hand holding, but I already know the answer to that one! Thankyou for your visit Mike, I hope you and Bets have enjoyed a great weekend.

Sincere regards, gail

I did add a slight 'vigenette' that  seemed to work well, and probably account for the brightness in the centre, so glad you enjoyed this one Christal, Perhaps it is the Tuorquoise and Brown  I am attracted to, reminding me of Western Gear.

Hello there dear friend! so happy you enjoyed this one, I worked a bit on it and actually liked some of the images in-between, but ended up liking this best.
