Paul,

This has a wonderful feeling of a landscape going on forever, but the eyes sometimes stop their wandering and seek the metal roofed building and it's implied set of humans.  I live in the suburbs of a town, near a big city and sometimes long for this kind of an open environment.  It would be interesting here to do a horizontal series, using a tripod, so that the finished images could be blended together into a long horizontal panorama.  I wonder if this was taken in the spring or early summer.

Regards,

Jerry

Thanks everyone for your comments.  Jerry, I thought about doing this but I found that isolating smaller areas had more impact in the Palouse area.  You must remember that I was quite a ways up on Steptoe Butte when I shot this image.  Maybe I will try panorama when I go back, because i am definitely going back!  All the best.

This picture is outstanding. The smooth hills, the scattered trees and the lovely colors make this picture really stand out. It reminds me of the great pictures by Yann Arthus Bertrand (The Earth from Above). It is really eye popping. Excellent work.

best regards Per

Paul,  You have wonderful undulations and colors in this image.  The light is soft and effective.  Nice eye in seeing and creating this image - absolutely excellent.

Best to you.  Larry

Hi Larry.  Thanks for stopping by and commenting on this one.  This is my best of the bunch, and when I go back I will be armed with a 100-400 L series lens.  I borrowed one from a lady who was also shooting with Canon gear, and it really made a difference in getting in close enough so you could distinguish details such as farm houses etc.  In this shot I had hiked down closer to the fields because I had to give the long lens back tot the lady, and revert to my 70-200, and on my 5D MK ii this lens is not that long.  I decided to crop a little to bring in the details more.  Take care my friend.

Thanks Per, and Sergio.  Per, I apologize for not including you in my last post.  Sergio, thanks for taking the time to stop by my small humble world in Photo.net.  Take care.
