I'm rather pleased with this shot, and so are my models, but we're too

close to it, so your "independent advice" would be greatly appreciated --

critique away!

This picture reminds me of the movie "1984", from George Orwell's novel. Maybe the shaved heads, maybe all that black background, maybe her body language (it seems to me that, while he is standing strainght, she is kinda leaning backwards, as if she wanted to put a little more distance, likely out of tension or inquietude; and also her face doesn't look exactly "relaxed" and loose).
Yet there's more lightness here, and this picture leaves more room for a "positive" outcome.
There's a whole story here, told by their bodies and expressions. I like this pic.
Good job.

I think this is a great photo and can well understand that you and the people in the photo are happy with it. Well done! I think the composition is super - having them at the right edge is great and the fact that the background is completely black fits beautifully. For me, there is a very playful element in it and I enjoy the fact that this playfulness is not bound to a particular geographical place. If I were asked to nit pick I might say that I am not sure about the strong light on her back and shoulders and the strong shadow - especially on his nose, and I might like to see a bit more moderation in both cases (a reflector adding a touch more light may have been the answer, together with a slightly shorter exposure so that the overall darkness of the image is not lost). But that is not a major point and would only be something to play around with rather than a must. Overall it must be said: Excellent work!
