John Peri 1,029 Posted November 1, 2012 This young lady is not one, but I did meet just such a person as depicted in this photograph who contacted me in New York to help get over her depression. She suffered among other things from something I had not heard of before called Body Dysmorphia Disorder, which she claimed meant that she hated her body, with which there was no reason to agree. To me, her most obvious problem was loneliness. We took some photos and spent several months discussing the outcome. I think, I hope, that it did her good, she said it did at any rate. I actually used some of her photos with her approval in one of my books. Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted November 1, 2012 Hi John,Congratulations in assisting the woman through photography and council.Over the years, I have meat a number of young women that suffer from the same outlook. All too often these women are avoided (ignored) or taken advantage of by those that have no compassion toward their fellow human being.Nice work.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted November 1, 2012 How she could hate this body is beyond me. Just goes to show the power of the brain. She is beautiful and bless your heart for helping her. It's also pleasing to see a lady who hasn't succumbed to the shave bare craze as well. She looks very feminine and desirable. God bless her! Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted November 1, 2012 Michael, it's not this lady, but not important, it's all about the photography anyway .. : -).. Thanks for passing by .. Thank you Maurizio and Mike also. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 5 Posted November 2, 2012 Beautiful and dramatic!A little more black/white contrast might make it a bit more dramatic.Kudos to the two of you. Jim Phelps Link to comment
