Vatovavy Fitovinany region, Madagascar. This little girl was watching

over the freshly-harvested rice that was spread out to dry on mats in

front of her home. She ducked into the shadow as I walked by, and the

contrast of her red dress with the drab coloration around her caught

my eye. I admit that the foreground is washed out a little bit, but I

wonder if perhaps it would distract too much from the focal point (the

girl) if it was too sharp.
