Katerina,

This is a lovely model in a lovely setting.  I would suggest, however, that the crop you used throws a great deal of empty black space on the left half of the picture. Also the models hair is lost in the darkness, especially so because she has black hair.  I offer this crop and adjustment of tones for your consideration.

Thank you, but the idea in this work does not show the models body and hair, but the atmosphere and mood .... That is why the selected such framing and tone in this photo. I prefer to leave it as it was. :) Katerina.

I disagree with the previous writer!

Your picture is much more interesting than the model alone. Your picture has the approach of a painting which makes the image much more interesting ... and more artistic. Many photographers have the classic photographic approach and should look more to other arts. Beautifully done!

A beautiful model and pose Katerina!  If I were forced to choose, I would probably lean towards Jerry's rendition, as I usually like to see good shadow detail.  (A vestige of the Zone System left in my blood, I guess!)  I also know that cropping is a highly personal thing, and that other people may not sense the feeling or message you are trying to portray with your crop.

This is one of the many areas that make photography so interesting... it is both a science and an art, and every one of us would probably pose a given model and scene differently and do our post work differently!   I suppose the main thing is that we are stretching and learning!  Nice shot!

Lovely image, nice deep moody shadows. I prefer your original photograph Katerina but Jerry makes a good point with his.
