The sky gives this shot a somewhat supernatural or surreal feel. Its like fire in the sky end of the world type of look.

Those reds in the sky due overpower the buildings and force me to focus all my attention on the sky itself. The tree on the right is completely overpowered by those reds.

That being said it is very possible that that red sky is exactly what you were trying to capture in which case the shot was a success.
