Delightful! Perfectly positioned in the frame, giving us a full view of this charming vehicle. Interesting that the lights are intact and the wheels in ostensibly fair condition. Great find! Visually, the color combos work well, too.

This is a '55 Chevrolet delivery truck, of the kind that may have been

used to delivery groceries, auto parts, and some such. It currently

houses one man, and the affair in back is a microwave plugged in

the building, rear. Your ratings, critiques and observations are

invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically,

please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please share

your photographic knowledge to help improve my photography.

Thanks! Enjoy! john

Thanks for the compliment

Also for the nomenclature; I was at a loss for what to call this truck specifically.

This is a feast for car/truck lovers including me.I love the sunburned multicoats of paint and the minimal rust ideal for restoration. It seems to have all its original parts including those little back lights sitting at belt level;these were easily torn off especially on a work/commercial vehicle such as this one as they were sticking out and a little cumbersome. My dad had one of these,a 1948 GMC in which he taught me to drive. Not to contradict others that have commented, this is a Panel Truck based on the pickup truck platform.Chevy also had a Panel Delivery based on the sedan/car platform.I think this one is a 1954 model just before the major facelift of 1955.Photowise,great shot as always and just an excellent image.

Obviously you are multi-talented.  A fine photographer AND an aficionado of older vehicles.

The owner said it was a '55 Chevy, so I repeated that.  You and Meir can hash out what model it is; you gave reasons for what it is; Meir gave none, but he is not without experience, and has a lifetime of experience that exceeds mine.

I was drawn by the colors the drape on the side with its colors that complemented and the four windows on the side and their relationship to the vehicle.

In the next comment I'll post a photo of the tail light, just for you.

Thanks and good wishes.

Here's a tail light photo from the vehicle, above.

I couldn't help but notice this one, not only because of the aesthetics and the element of nostalgia, but also the foreword that I found quite touching. The fact that one man uses this as his home is quite remarkable..............untill of course we then consider that some have no home at all. A great shot on so many different levels. Did you manage to get any shots of the guy himself?

Best Regards

Thanks for the implied numerous compliments.

Although I'm noted for taking 'people pictures', in this case the owner was wary of being photographed.

Perhaps it had something to do with where he was parked, or more likely the microwave electric cord going through the window rear.

It's rained recently; and it was an indoor cord, not grounded and maybe with no ground fault interrupter.  Let's hope he hasn't been 'shorted' to death.

Thanks again for a nice tribute.

You never know where the next good photo will come from, do you ?  That's why the camera is always around my neck, no matter how 'geekish' it makes me look.

;~))

Thank you for the link to the photo of that tail light;my comment was for that other smaller light sticking out a bit higher at the level of the orange/green separation in the panel section.(maybe an option as it seemed to be absent on some models). Also my appologies to Meir and you as I tripped on the info of the sedan based version;it was known as a Sedan Delivery and not a Panel Delivery.

Mes excuses et aussi,meilleures salutations-Laurent
