Hi Tim Thanks for visiting & I agree completely with your thoughts on these sad old homes.Have passed this place numerous times ,always thinking to scout it out. Well, this year was the year & was it a slog, the grasses are knee high & thick as can be. Without trecking poles I would have been on my face more times than you can count. Gotta admit , these old legs were crying , "Uncle" at the end ,but it was worth the images I captured . Plan om returning next year, high grasses & all..Take Care -Ross

Ross,

This is a good and very interesting emotional photograph!  I like the composition and the colours, just enough blue sky and heavy white clouds. The big dark tree adds balance with all the green grass and dry vegetation on the foreground. Then under the red tiles, lifeless all these windows crumbling  next to a cross on yellow. Perhaps, a happy family for many generation lived there and there was life, love, warmth... but now, how sad is the story?

Hi Thanks for your well thought out comments, I agree with all of your comments If the first occupants could see the deplorable state of the home today, I am sure they would be heartbroken. Best Regards-Ross
