A very nicely made image, David! I like the crop and the use of negative space. Her expression and direction of her gaze feels like she is deep in thought.

OBTW, last night I uploaded one somewhat similar which I will post for critique soon.

Personally I do not like the picture but the achievement is good and most important I like the concept and it seems pretty original or, at least, very courageous.

Ali, Thanks a lot.

Mark, I am being drawn more and more to images where it is clear the subject is in thought. For that reason, you might gather that I like your comment.

Stoica, The fact that you don't like the picture makes your time all the more appreciated. I am not quite sure I understand you to be honest. The word 'courageous' is not one I would us on this image. Thanks for taking the time.

Koushik, I am glad you like this.

Thanks everyone.

I wanted to say that although photography is not my taste, but high quality and originality caught my attention. If you ignore the purely subjective opinion - you can consider just that this picture is really quite remarkable.

Stoica (or should I say Daniel,) Thanks for coming back and leaving another comment. I understand your first comment more now.

Allan, You have not need to be sorry! I don't like frames either if the truth be known. Thanks a lot. I am glad you like the image (without the frame.)

Being one who has been known to crop a bit you know I like this. It is different and very strong in composition. The balance here almost makes me feel uneasy, which is compliment. I have no idea how you carried the detail of the frame of her glasses against that black background I don't know but you did and I compliment you. I love it.

The choice of an half portrait could be some time a risk! Not in this case, your half portrait it's perfect and perfectly working!

Owen, I am very surprised at just how much this attention this image has received. I am very glad that it has prompted you to comment. In truth I really do not know how I achieved it. It was just a casual snap.

Sergio, I don't think any photograph is a 'risk' but I appreciate that not everyone would like an image. I am happy that you like this.

Thank you both.
