frigo 4,155 Posted October 16, 2012 In color, the big sky was the focus.B/W conversion was to bring focus on barn.Did it work? Thanks in advance for commenting.-Laurent Link to comment
cayo 0 Posted October 16, 2012 Yes, it works. Wonderful DoF with that super-wide lens. Did you use a filter to add drama to the sky? Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted October 16, 2012 Thank you for your response. You saw right;the circular polarizer hardly ever leaves the front of this wide-angle lense and it does contribute to the definition of this big sky.Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment

alfbailey 2 Posted October 16, 2012 The B & W is very successful in achieving the desired effect in making the barn more prominent. The central composition works quite well too, but cropping the right vertically to form a square orientated image does seem to offer a viable alternative. A fine B & W landcsape!Best Regards Alf Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted October 16, 2012 Thank you for eyeing this and for the helpful suggestion on the crop. This was a sky shot and as I noted in my request,I converted to B/W to shift the focus to the barn. When still in color,I cropped wide on the right to maintain a blue contour on the big cloud then the focus.I should have followed up and re-thought my crop as you suggest to enhance the focus on the barn.I will keep this in mind for the next one.Again, merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
