It's a worthwhile hike from the Bear Lake area up to the body of water

known as "The Loch". The elevation is near 10,000 feet, so the air is thin,

crisp, and clear. This is a cropped version, and I'll post the full view next

time. It is an HDR image, using LR4, CS6, and Photomatix. Aloha.

Pretty photo.  Despite the HDR the clouds, snow and detail in the lower right corner seem a bit blown out.  Darkening the blacks in the upper left mountain area might improve the overall feeling.

Hi Dominick,  This is a great perspective shown of this massive mountain with the trees dwarfed against it and reflecting in the lake. I have been to Bear Lake several times, but to late in the day to hike to the Loch. Now that I have seen the Loch, I really need to check out this lake the next time I get back to RMNP. Love your composition and the beauty you captured.  Regards,   Sherry

David, I considered darkening that area, but I wanted the eye to focus more on the mountain behind the lake.    It's funny how some input from viewers will suggest I am going too far with the HDR, so it does not look real, and others will say I've not gone far enough.  I'm new at it and still playing and having fun with it.  I sincerely appreciate your input.

HDR is a wonderful tool that I haven't tried yet, but this shot meets the criteria for an excellent (IMO) HDR and that is that it looks natural.  Excellent work...  Mike

Thank you Mike!  Most of all, I am having fun.  Correcting mistakes and growing, but having fun.  At my advanced years, that's what's important.  This is a cropped version, and I should have the full image up this weekend.  Aloha.
