Last week I went for a walk in one of our most beautiful City Parks,

Jackson's Park. I was hoping to find some good Fall Colour and try

out a Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens to see if I liked it's

performance. There were many folks/families walking, jogging, and

spending the day in the Park. I met this lovely woman who had such

a cute pup. As we talked I learned that she had only had 'Chloe' for 2

weeks. She was a 'Rescue Dog', who had been residing in a home

with MANY dogs/puppies. The owner could no longer take care of

them, and the son was trying. He could not handle it. Apparently

Chloe, a Maltese Terrier, had to be shaved quite short as her fur was

very matted. All the females in the home had been impregnated, the

young puppies just after their first 'heat', including Chloe. She is only

about a year old. It sounded like she had been poorly treated,

besides having to have puppies at such a young age. I would never

have known. She was friendly and happy, and had already won over

the heart of her new owner. I was lucky to capture her in this pose,

unfortunately I could not figure out how to clone out the 'bag', but at

least the woman is a responsible dog owner. I hope she is loved the

way she is deserved to be loved. I think she looks very happy in this

capture. (many thanks for any visits, most sincerely, Gail)

I started trying to clone out the bag, and it just got me frustrated, so I figured it was part of the 'story', dogs being dogs ;-). She was cute and so friendly considering she was only 2 weeks out of such bad conditions. Thankyou for your visit and comments.

Beautiful capture of this one Gail! Like the detail in the white fur and the eye contact. Background sets the dog off well. Regards

Lovely capture of an adoring little friend, with perfect details (like always).

What a remarkable shot, Gail--and absolutely astonishing on "large"!

Gosh, this is much better than this week's dog shot on the PoW forum, in my opinion.
