Indeed sometimes I too am missing the horses that were around when I was a child and still employed on daily tasks. But all the travel we do in our days would not be possible on horseback. The price we pay is in the depth of the communication with the environment we travel through: going by car is like comparing an SMS with a letter from the good old days.

The bus in the background is in fact a very useful aid in visiting the park, it runs on natural gas so it has a minimal impact on environment and for us tourists it is very convenient, allowing access to trail-heads where otherwise you would have no chance of finding a free parking lot.
