This is only a small portion of a massive store front on Magnificent

Mile in Chicago. I wanted the viewer to see the detail, so I opted to

just feature this center portion. Interesting bit of history with all

of the old sewing machine manufacturers, many of them now long gone.

Christal,

Nice well centred and well framed shot! it is interesting and original for a small portion of a massive exhibit. Good marketing for clothings and Jeans in particular.  Perhaps the same type of store having a branch in Portobello Road, London uk, with exactly same type of decoration with hundreds of old sewing machines, same structures same brick wall. Anyway I like your photograph, it's well taken and very arty.  Regards, Bachir

Fantastic composition, the lines and layout are perfect.  So, which of these machines did you grow up with? ;-)  Actually, my Mom had an old Singer much like the one at top left and now my daughter has it.  This brings back memories....  Mike

Pierre.....Gee, I don't get too many 7's.  :-)  Thanks!

Bachir.....glad you like this.  Yes, in fact, I think they do have a shop in London, although like everyone else, it may be going online now.  I love seeing 'new faces', so I'll be getting over to check on your work soon.  Thanks!

Mike....Gee...thanks!  I love it too.  I'd love to make a poster of this and put it in a craft room......if I only had a craft room.  ;-)  My mom had a Singer too.....had it for years.....they don't make them like that anymore.

I love this image, I have an old Singer that was my Mom's - It was really the main thing I wanted passed down to me. My Dad also sews on an old treedle, mainly Leather - he makes camera cases, don't know how he thinks 3D 'on the fly' but does some beautiful work.

Gail.....you must have one of your dad's camera cases, I presume.  How cool is that?  You have such a talented family!!!  I can see where you get your creativity!  Thanks for commenting on this!

I have a craft room of sorts now, but we'll soon be moving and I won't have one there.  So when we move I think I'm going to hang this in the laundry room to cover an electrical panel box.  Thanks for your visit....good to hear from you!
