Water Pump

Colorizing part of a black and white image is a gimmick that's really passé now.  It serves no purpose other than showing that you know how to do it.

Maybe, maybe not. Here, it isolates the pump from an otherwise cluttered background.

emphasizing a point of view by beginning a sentence with a gerund acting as a noun may be routine, but serves the purpose ;-)

if the purpose was to *only*reduce the clutter, cropping could have been tighter.

the choice of the color is critical to the potential suggestions offered to the viewer. (since posted under digital alterations)
