Mark, I much prefer your other image of this Dahlia. Your decision process  to use a portrait format, where you squeezed the image to fit with in it, just doesn't work, especially when one just viewed your other image that works perfectly .

IMO this last two image are different in way the light is used and impression feel is not same.In this one the essential of this flower is here with vivid color and light on it.I like both of them,best regards.
