Thanks - Taken yesterday in Parc Tremblant early in the morning. I was

in landscape mode with my Sigma 10-20mm lens. If I had stopped to

change the lens, I would have lost this opportunity. Comments?

Suggestions?

Good Morning Tony, With all your experience in PS I'm not even going to suggest a crop because I'm sure you looked at all the possibilities, besides I don't want to lose the frost in the FG shadows. The light is strong but beautiful in the rest of the image and the opportunity to shoot the deer could not be passed up. Nice timing and beautiful colors make this a fine capture. Take care.

BR,

Holger

Slavomir - Thanks.

Holger - thanks. In fact this is already a crop.  I actually like the original (without the crop) but there was a wooden viewing platform which I thought might be objectionable to my friends here at PN.  By cropping it, I also cut out a 2nd deer.

Slavomir - Thanks. I must have taken 5 or 6 shots of this scene because of different action by the deer. My previous and limited experience with deer is that they maintain their distance or run away but exactly the opposite happened. One deer starting charging towards me and I quickly got between a wooden fence (about 6 feet long) and the deer. I did not move and it stopped and looked at me. I guess he was finally going to get some action and anything that moved was a threat to that opportunity. After a few minutes while I shot a few more images, they moved off slowly. This was not a time to worry about a wooden viewing structure in the background.

Tony,

It is amazing how much the deer adds to this beautiful Fall landscape, truly serendipitous that all the elements came together has they did for you.  A wonderful image!

Tony,   Wonderful capture of that deer.  Would you have preferred that the deer not be centered?  this looks like an early morning short with frost showing in the foreground.   Larry

I prefer the square crop with the central deer. The comp, with respect to the areas of different colours, looks more pleasing to my eye and also the deer is no longer jumping out of the shot. Great colours and great shot! Well captured!

Thanks - I could crop the right side to make the deer less central. I am thinking of going with the original but cloning out some steps.
