Glorious.  The blue sky is marvelous against the gray and the little pop of red on the roofs.  I hope you had a fantastic time traveling.

Carlos and  Jeff , it is a breath taking phenomena from centuries  ago, and shows the man's spirite.I have had a great trip and still PP the many photos from these suspended in the sky buildings. When you see them you just can not imagin how they were built...

Just an amazing picture, Pnina, a fantasy worthy of a child's imagination. I see your trip to Greece is going to produce some terrific pictures.

Thanks, glad you enjoy the place, it is so unusual and a real fantasy of the human spirit, let alone the way it was built!simply an enigma, with all the explanation, it is still somthing  very special.

Looks like your trip to Greece was a very fruitful one, Pnina...  A stunning view & beautiful clarity you captured here. ( A place I have yet to visit... & your pictures sure inspire!) Hope all is well with you, Pnina. Have a good Sunday! best, Marjolein

The idea of building this here is incredible.  Hard to believe people live here especially with strong weather.  The blue background is very pretty.  I wonder if the blackish aspect of the stone is from past volcanic activity.  Interesting,  sharp pic.  also the bell on top must reverberate into echos upon echos -- so lovely

Jorg, it is as I wrote an unbelievable landscapes .

Marjolein, it is worth visiting,It is hard to figure out how they did it,without computers...and technical machinery...thanks for your impressions !

Donna,it is the real colors, the blue sky and mountain colors came out from the camera, I did not add anything while PP. The story is that they used ropes in uploading the materials... Some of them were renovated with timepass, and still it is so very unique! 6 of the monasteries are still in use nowadays. One of them by nuns! Thanks for your extensive impressions, Donna.!

Wow! what a testament to the inventive spirit of humankind. Whether an attempt to get closer to God or simply an effort to enjoy the view the atmosphere atop of this pinnacle must be magical.

A nice crisp sharp image. The blue sky makes for an effective backdrop.

Thanks for your impression, I think that both your assumptions are right to the point! I upload for you ( and others) another angle of this one, and you will see how right you are.  This is really a magical human phenomena.
