lex_jenkins 13 Posted September 29, 2012 I like the stark contrast and use of geometry in your photos of buildings. The selective focus works well for these urban scenes - it seems to convey our own personal selective memories of how familiar scenes vary from mundane reality. I'm not sure it works as well in this particular photo. The barely visible bits of objects along the far left and bottom left margins seem distracting rather than creating boundaries for the negative space. The foremost street lamp seems cropped a bit too closely. It's the sort of photo that might work well within the context of a series of similar or complementary photos. I'm just not sure about it as a stand-alone photo. Link to comment
esteve 0 Posted September 29, 2012 Lex, First of all, thanks a lot for your nice comment. You're right about the parts of visible objects in the sides of the shot. I thought about removing them, but lately I tend to leave the shots as they are when I post them. I'd had to use "legs-zoom" to crop them out, since this is shot with a 50mm LB. This is actually from a series, I'll be posting more in the next days. This is just the first one, which I happen to like, and this is why I posted it alone, and first.
