Just came back from a beautiful meeting with the Greek people and a trip to an unusual sight of nature and human spirit . A great wonder how they were built starting the 9th century!.....

Although the buildings have now been re-built I do recall there still being signs of old monk huts on some of the other cliff tops. These structures are a fantastic measure of their (monks) will/determination to escape the trials and tribulations of human contact (and Ottoman rule) in a attempt to be pure and closer to their God

 Art, it was my first time in Meteora ,even I love Greece and visited there a few times. but this time the meteora monasteries were breath taking, not only the natural landscapes, but the spirit of Greek's monks and history is so special. I'm glad that it brings you momories .Thanks for  your impressions.

Dimitris, it is probably not new for you, but it is an unusual spirit of the Greeks monks and ability  with the interesting beautiful history ! It will help the people to overcome the difficulties. This is  what I wish to this wonderful nation!
