A shot taken south of Brookings, Oregon. Let me know what you think of

the B&W processing (Lightroom 3/ Silver Efex Pro), and the composition.

I appreciate your stopping by my humble part of this world.

I think you've done a great job processing this. There's still some highlights in the water, nice neutral tones for the sand and fog and a great tonal range in the rocks. Reminds me of some of my favorite times on the coast.

The finer details can be fully appreciated in the larger view! I think the B & W tones are excellent and its not the first time I've seen excellent results from users of Silver Efex, its now definately on my shopping list!  The mist and rock relfections are other key elements that appeal to me in this image.

Sincere Compliments!

Thanks Ryan and Alf for commenting on this image.  I struggled with going with the B&W version at first, but the simplicity of B&W lends itself to this kind of subject matter, especially given the muted lighting.  Take care you two, and all the best.

Paul,  You did a terrific job on the B&W conversion.  Isn't the Oregon coast wonderful!  I like the composition and effect of the still water in the foreground with the reflection contrasted against the muted and moody background.  It would also be interesting to see the color version.  Nice work.  Larry

Thanks Larry.  I agree that this coastline is very special, and one I will never get bored visiting.  Take care, and all the best.

The difference between the small and large versions is striking -- you're right, this needs to be viewed large.  Great detail, tones, and overall composition -- it's an excellent photograph, and a perfect subject for B&W.
