They tear everything down! It's called maximizing value or some such nonsense. I'm seeing my neighborhood nibbled away one house at a time with highrises sprouting like weeds. Thank God for progress.

I hear you, Jack.  There was not even much warning, or else I would have tried to get some close-up shots as well--preferably during the day.
