Sorting out the files on my database, I came across a series of these guys, taken over a year ago.

At first glance, they are so similar to the Western Rosella........ hence my mis-filing.

This is a juvenile, and I have yet to capture an adult, who's colours are magnificent. All in good time.

Captured under a heavy cover canopy, and only still for a second.... how

did I do for eye-contact (smiles).

Comments always welcome and appreciated........

Hi Grayham!  What a colorful one!  Can't imagine what the adult must look like.  He cocked his head just right so we get a little profile.  Defocussed background really helps to set him off.  Yes, great eye contact.  He's trying to figure out what you are up to next!  Hope you had an enjoyable holiday season.  Best regards

THanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments.......... I think us birders work quite hard on getting the right DoF and a complimentary background, so I was quite surprised to have a local Image Bank critisise this very image saying that the background was too wishywashy and detracted from the subject..... go figure on that one.

The adults by the way are extremely colourful and although I have yet to capture one.... my day is coming (smiles).

Best regards
