After having had the good fortune to see antelope on three other continents,

I finally saw these N. American antelope in the Pawnee Buttes National

Grasslands a couple of months ago. Nearly hunted to extinction, they are

gradually rebuilding their numbers. I would say their horns are their most

distinctive feature.

GungaJim,

Good shot of these two Bucks!

Yes, their Antler's are very distinctive but, what I have found most facinating about the Pronghorn is their speed and ability to "run through" a Barbed wire fence without missing a beat!

They are very interesting creatures to observe.

Regards always,

Jim j.

Great colours, the grasses too adding to the aesthetics. It's easy to see why they would be elusive as they blend so well with thier environment, but very sad to hear about thier dwindling numbers.  Looks like you got the shot just in time, I think they spotted you!

Compliments!

Best Regards

Alf
