sranga 2,136 Posted September 13, 2012 Impressive web that seems to be in good repair.I wonder how they are able withstand even heavy downpours. Link to comment
stemked 4 Posted September 13, 2012 Very nice. I assume the name is your own creation, I'm pretty sure this is just a Garden Spider.I might suggest though, as beautiful as the image is, it might make a stronger composition to get the spider out of dead center of the image. Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted September 14, 2012 thanks for your comments. Douglas, wasp spider is indeed a common name for this species, just google it. Concerning your suggestion to get rid of the central part of the web, here is another photo (not of the same spider though) without this part, but without a clear web Link to comment

lynnthomas 0 Posted September 16, 2012 This reminds me of an old video on Youtube that my daughter showed me...about a spider on crack. It was very funny. I think this is a great photo, clear and sharp. Being in the dead center may be a Rule of Thirds no-no but to me, I think its ok with spiders since that's usually where they are in the web. At least when I have seen them. I personally hate them..well more fear..ok am terrified of them but I can appreciate their beauty and the beauty that they create. I think this is well done.
