You know I enjoy these kinds of shots.

 

Looks like you had problems getting the surface parallel to the film plane because the top looks sharper than the bottom.

Well it appears to be a rusty piece of sheet metal. Regardless, I find it very interesting work. There are interesting patterns and lines to discern throughout. The colors are not those that would attract most viewers but I think that secondary to the interest created by the three distinct areas of corroded metal you see. I like it.

Thanks for the comments everyone! This is the hull of a large (close to 100 ft. fishing boat). It's a dragger. This was shot in macro mode, at nearly 1/1. I'm happy about the colors , texture, and overall design of the image.

 

Carl, you're right about this not being sharp and probably right about the film plane. I was literally lying down on the dock trying to get this angle as the ship bobbed in the water. I guess I'll have to go out and try again!

This would look great on a wall with a fireplace. The whole wall, that is. Rust makes the best colors/tones.
