A texture and colour study of some old machinery at the market. Let me

know what you think of the composition, and the post work.

An interesting composition with very attractive colours. I think the shadowed area detracts a little from the overall effect, dulling the colours too much, occupying too wide an area of the total canvas . I find that shadows are always a problem in this kind of image. Maybe try an earlier or later time of day, make the shadow area narrower, and darker too? But then you would probably have problems with that blue piece which sticks out of the shadow area. Remove it? As I say, a very attractive image. Best regards.

Hi Jon.  Thanks for the comments and advice.  I will try to revisit this place the next time I am in Vancouver.  You make some valid points, although I am not sure if I agree with the shadow being such a negative.  I wanted the focus on the large rusted area with the "button", and I felt that the shadow helped accentuate that area more.  I really appreciate the feedback, though, as you got me thinking about this kind of image for next time.  Take care.
