patrick_coombes 0 Posted September 7, 2012 I love the calm and serene atmosphere. The guy sitting and the perspective gives this beautiful tree an impression of immensity. Lovely light. Well done Line! RegardsPatrick Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 7, 2012 The form and light of the tree are exquisite. Initially I wasn't so crazy about the building, but with a person sitting there, the photo is now one of a great contrast (for me, at least): the graceful tree and the geometric building, with the person linking these two very different forms and very different worlds. I think the composition is exceptional. The only thing that I find distracting are the two very thin vertical black lines on the distant ridge. I'd also think about removing the wooden post, simply to reduce the elements to their most basic. Link to comment

stp 6 Posted September 8, 2012 This is really growing on me -- I like it more every time I see it. I can also see that I really missed an important feature: that background "ridge" is the wall of a building, those vertical lines must be cracks, and I wonder if that post is a door. Regardless, the composition and the story I see are marvelous. Link to comment

LineMartel 6,260 Posted September 9, 2012 Thanks for your input. What looks like a post is actually a window, but I tend to agree with you to the fact that it is a little distracting and could well be removed. Thanks again,Line Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 9, 2012 Yeah, that makes sense -- it's pretty narrow to be a door, even it the walls were not at right angles to each other (which would be unusual). This is such an incredible tree for this location, and I'm blown away by the contrast as well as the symbolism I can read in the photograph. This is one for the favorites folder. Link to comment
