Thoughts or comments on the depth of field on this shot would be

I like the depth of field, it helps to separate the rocky shore from the vastness of the ocean disappearing into the distance, if that makes any sense!

This is a feast for the eye. I love the textures in the foreground of the stones and the water. Nice use of DOF. A very interesting perspective on a shore-line.

Thanks for the comments. Paul, I threw the background out of focus on purpose. This was the look I was going for. I also did the opposite ( foregound blurred with background in focus but it did not stand out as much.

Great, I personally would have preferred the rocks at the bottom of the field to be in focus. Will that throw the background too out-of -focus?

interesting idea. I'm not sure that it works for me, though - it makes me really want to see the ocean in focus. But if I were you, I would experiment with this further. Maybe add a little more DOF?...
