Lonely Tree Misty Mountains

There was 2/3 small branches in the foreground, which I as adviced

to clone out. Otherwise, did very little to this image.

Great tonalities.

I like the tree because it looks like the only vegitation for hundreds of kilometers. In addition, I like how its all the way in the corner. It works very well to show contrast. Nicely desaturated colors work well for this idea.

lovely landscape. Truely beautifull. One thought would be that with an ND grad filter over the sky you could have kept the sky detail but got a longer exposure from the land to get a little more detail. Not a criticism though, just my ramblings. Love the photo as it is :)

Gavin, I'm ashamed to tell you at the time of taking this shot, I had no idea what an ND grad filter was, leave along know how it might have helped my picture taking - but there's hope for me yet (says she), since then, I'm now proud owner of a few ND grads!! Thank you again for your kind comment.

You really have some wonderful photos here, A. I've been perusing your portfolios and this one caught my eye. A stunner. It gives me a sense of peace. I guess I'd better get busy and do some shooting. Maybe I'll look for a mountain tomorrow. Wait, no mountains in Wisconsin, only cows and cheese. So, I'll go look for a cow.

Hi B....Wales is full of mountains and sealines -lookforward to lots of landscapes from you shortly :) This I took so many moons ago that if my life depended on it, I could hardly tell you how it looked in real life, but take it I did since in those days, there was only one photographer in the family:)
