This is a beautiful and intimate little image.  I know that a landscape like this can be so damned difficult to photograph too, i.e., in setting up and finding a meaningful composition in heavy vegetation, but you've found a good one here.  You also probably found the one part of Florida with topographic relief over ten feet (just kidding ;-).  This has wonderful compositional balance, and is visually quite appealing, as the eye is drawn in and naturally moves right up the hill through the image.

I took a look at your other Florida landscapes, and have to tell you that you have a fine eye for really capturing and expressing the essence of Florida with style and flair.  I have visited Florida a few times, and love bringing my tripod and camera and trying to make some images there.  It really is a beautiful state.  Keep up the good work, Gillie.

Cheers!  Chris

Thank you Chris for your very encouraging comments on some of my pictures yesterday.  I am English, used to any variety of scenes within easy distance, so I do find landscape photography in North Central Florida really difficult; once one gets away from the oceans and waterways it is too green, too flat, far too overgrown and it bites!  Therefore I really appreciate your kind words, and will set out with a lighter step because of them :)

Ruud, Radu, thank you.  I had thought to try this scene much later in the day, when there might be more sun getting through the woods.
