I dug up and scanned this slide from a back country trip to the Pike National Forest in Colorado, 1986. This shot was the reward for climbing a brutal set of switchbacks in the rain. The slide has been somewhat abused over the years, so a bit of housekeeping was done in GIMP to clean up dust and such, but other than that this is what's on the chrome.

I've always liked this shot, but have never been able to figure out

if that's because it's good, or because getting it was so much work

(see the tech notes).

Lovely image Joe, it cleaned up great. :) The composition is very good. I ditto what Jason said!
