something about where you are standing to aim at this scene, your perspective, your tilt with the already dilapidated machines, makes the viewer feel like they're inside the ruin, on the floor with the dog resigned to the dilapidation.... with your inclusion of the murky yellows capturing the jaundiced mood of the scene. a fascinating document, as well, Paul.  dp
