I am surprised you have no more comments on this great image. Flowers usually attract comments, especially when they are this good. It is elegant and refined, even when this is a fairly common flower. It makes for a very nice image, and the red color very nicely captured. It is quite hard to get the "right" tonality when different monitors and technical nuances intervene in the process. Well done!

Love the depth and richness of this image.  Amazing how you got the variety of reds without ruining the yellow and green.  Also, this is a great example of how a little post processing is better than a lot.  You seem to have done just a bit of sharpening (or whatever) to bring out the lucious texture of the petals while leaving the almost wet smoothness of the stamens.  Bravo!

Daniel,

Thanks for your support- unfortunately, I don't often have time to comment on other's flower shots, so some folks don't feel any interest in commenting here. No problem, I do this for the practice and for fun and in the hopes that someone will enjoy them.

Pamela,

Thanks for your eloquent comment. There is sharpening involved, but with care not to over do.

Hi Gregory and Verena. Congrats on getting those textures and tones from the difficult red colour! A very competent capture with great use of lighting! Best wishes. Sarah.

Your flowers' macro are a source of inspiration for me, Again there you captured the colours superbly well and we all know how difficult this is, particularly this red orange tints. The texture is very well rendered. Very delicate and elegant composition Gregory and Verena.

Patrick
