Another attempt at a poster. This time I used a shot from this past

Friday at Coal Harbour. This was taken from the Stanley Park

perspective. Let em know what you think of the general layout and

border work, as well as the image itself. Thanks for stopping by.

Ah, downtown Van in the morning, how I miss it. This is a really interesting shot because it's naturally framed by elements in the photo. I think this would look best on a simple white background, the black lines in your frame are constricting a scene that already has a lot of visual tension. I really do dig the photo though, I'd hang it on my wall.

A perfect composition for a poster.  Everything including the exposure and framing is well tuned.  What focal length did you use?

Well captured.

Thanks for your comments, Ryan and Victor.  Victor, I was using my 17-40 L series lens, and the focal length was 24 mm.  I stitched 5 vertical exposures to get this.  I had to clone out a small part of the seawall in the lower right corner as well because it was distracting.  I think we shot this at about 8 am.

Ryan, I sort of agree with you about the border on this version so I reduced the thickness of the outside border.  When I got it printed at Walmart they ended up trimming off three sides of the black border, so I had them trim of the last side as well. The print looks fantastic, but I am pretty sure if the outside border survived that it would have looked just as good!  Take care.

Hi Paul,

Just one suggestion:  I've tried Walmart for large prints before but found them all printed darker than the original.  So I ended up with London Drugs whom I found to be more acceptable.  You may want to try LD to see if there's any difference to you.

Thanks for the suggestion, Victor, although the prints I have been getting from Walmart have been pretty darn good.  I will try London Drugs, though, at a later date.  Take care.
