I think the composition is fine -- I like the animal shown in full context of its habitat, and for me the large wall works well.  I'd experiment with a bit more contrast on that wall (the foreground is fine in this regard, so I'd isolate it and work just on the background).  I'm impressed with the DOF you were able to capture.
