kslonaker 0 Posted July 26, 2003 Took this at the aquarium. Hard to get shots of moving jellyfish!! Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted July 26, 2003 This is a great shot. Good framing (must have been quite a job, as you sat, nailing a moving jellyfish). I love the combination of the dark blue and the warm yellow. The shot looks a bit grainy, though. It this a crop? The grain doesn't bother me - I actually like the texture it adds to the fish. Well done! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted July 26, 2003 This is cropped - there was another jellyfish not far behind. This is also saved at a low resolution so the original is not so grainy. Link to comment
jeff_oxford 0 Posted July 26, 2003 Fantastic colors and contrast. I like the framing too. Link to comment
jeff d 1 Posted July 26, 2003 Luck: you got lucky to find one moving. Timing: you got this at the right moment, and your settings were good too. Good eye: you knew exactly what to photograph. You nailed it. Link to comment
bayard_bigelow 0 Posted July 27, 2003 I have made several jelly fish attempts and agree they are very tricky. This is a beauty, great color and flow. Link to comment
karen_siebert 0 Posted July 27, 2003 AWESOME SHOT!! Love the colors, great crop. Job well done. Link to comment
hayward 0 Posted July 29, 2003 This is nice. I've tried for the same shot and not gotten one as nice. If I were to rate it (which I didn't) I'd go a little low on originality, only because I've seen these jellies and pictures so many times. Regards. Link to comment
roland_vandenbulcke 0 Posted August 1, 2003 Mostly the underwater picture are here under rated, I now that this is very difficult and appreciate that, yours are beautifull. Link to comment
jon_secord 0 Posted August 2, 2003 must have been a very difficult shot, i love the colors, very vibrant Link to comment
anthonyirik 0 Posted August 25, 2003 This is Fab! Hows the D1 deal with such low light situations? I assume part of the grain [as well as from cropping], is from a high ISO. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 25, 2003 ISO 1600, F4.5 at 1/10 sec. Handheld, but if I remember right, I held it on the glass to steady it. Normally I can barely get a sharp shot at 1/60! This was definitely in very low lighting! Link to comment
oistein 0 Posted September 1, 2003 beautiful colours!! I'd love to do underwater photography.. have to take a diving course and get a house for my camera I guess ;-) good work! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Not underwater photography - held camera against the glass of the aquarium and got this shot somehow! Link to comment
carlos_castillejos 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Great shot, wonderful colors!!! I know how difficult can it be to get one of this things on the camera, I have one in my portfolio called "Neons" I also took it at the aquarium in Seattle, if you have some time take a look of it. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I will look at it, Carlos. I'm eager to go back to the aquarium and try this again. Link to comment
